Pastoral: To Die in the Country/田園に死す

I don't know much about film genres, but surprisingly, the genre is surreal pastoral.

I will be doing reviews from the perspective of the average person and from my own perspective, so to speak. This is the second film I liked in that video (here it is), and I liked it for some reason. I'm too lazy to delve into what it's really about, so I'll write down how I understood it. It's a story about the life of this guy (the main character), about the difficult life after the war, and everything is embellished with Japanese madness. There are many scenes where something happens without much meaning (I don't know what such scenes are called), and somehow it all comes together to create its own unique atmosphere.

I also really liked the musical component, I don’t know what to say about it in particular, but I liked it

And how did the events develop towards the end, where or did it start at the 40th minute, that this is all a film within a film about the author's childhood and he then returns, as it were, back to his childhood and reflects to himself about the fact that what has passed cannot be changed, but it is certainly possible to embellish and invent it, in short. Also so funny was like how they broke the 4th wall

Overall, I recommend watching it.
